The Book Refinery is my side hustle. I took a few bookbinding courses at MSU, and I was hooked. Binding books satisfies the perfectionist in me because I have control over every single aspect of the process – incorporating craft, color theory, and technique into every piece I make. I love working with my hands and creating something unique that can be held and cherished. Now that I work as a graphic designer full time, The Book Refinery has largely fallen on the backburner, however I still make books by special request from time to time.
